Big Band takes part in 'All That Jazz' in aid of LinkAge

Posted: 4th May 2016

Last Friday, a Jazz Evening was held at JAGS in aid of Linkage, Southwark (formerly The Dulwich Help Line), a charity supporting the elderly of the borough.  This is an annual event and once again, our Big Band was invited to participate; the only prep school group to perform alongside bands from five local secondary schools.  It was a happy coincidence to be able to point out to the boys that one of the ladies featured on the Charity’s advertising banners is a Bowen Drive neighbour of the School who has, for many years, attended our Senior Citizens’ Christmas party.

The Big Band opened the evening with three numbers but were then not allowed to leave the stage before performing an encore.  Mr Street’s inimitable directing style soon had the audience clapping and cheering along.  Congratulations to all the boys who participated and thanks to Mr Street and the staff who assisted.
