1st XV Rugby Tour to Biarritz

Posted: 13th April 2016

The 1st VX left for their trip to Biarritz on 4th April. The boys did lots of sightseeing and surfing and enjoyed many French and Spanish treats. A highlight was playing touch rugby on the beach in San Sebastian!

The boys had three fixtures against some very tough opposition. The first match was against Stade Hendaye which we unfortunately lost, but recovered well the next day to play a very bruising encounter against Anglet. We drew 36 all after being 36-0 up but our tired legs got the better of us in the second half – maybe something to do with the two hours of surfing earlier in the day!

The next day the boys played a triangular tournament with Bidart, winning 24-0 and then our final match against a very physical Biarritz side, coming out 5-0 on top.

The boys returned on 8th April after a very memorable tour of rugby and seeing some of the region’s beautiful cities.
