Justin Webb Lecture

Posted: 1st February 2017

Some 250-300 boys, parents, members of staff and visitors to the school had the privilege and pleasure of attending an entertaining and enlightening Leake lecture presentation by Justin Webb, Radio 4 presenter of the Today programme, in the Music School Concert Hall last Wednesday afternoon.  Justin drew on his experience of ten years as BBC editor in North America to regale us with anecdotes of presidents George W Bush and Barrack Obama before venturing an opinion or two on recent developments, since the election victory and inauguration of Donald Trump as the 45th president of the United States of America, in a talk entitled “Where to Now – America?”.  Justin spoke for 45 minutes with arresting fluency (without a note!), tempered with endearing humour, before dealing with challenging observations and questions from the floor.  Our thanks to Justin for giving up his time so willingly and readily to come and edify and entertain us.
