This term marked the first ever fully licensed TED event at Dulwich Prep London. The inaugural TEDxYouth@DPL was held on 24th May and will live a long time in the memory of the school and the pupils that attended the event.
Eight of our Year 8 boys were joined by girls from JAGS and The Charter in presenting on topics that excited, moved and fascinated them under the theme of ‘I thought’. The Music School auditorium was transformed into a TEDX studio, kitted out with sound systems, lights and cameras as, in accordance with our licence to host, every event has to be professionally recorded to enable an upload of the content to the TED.com.
The aim of the TED event at DPL was to give the Year 8’s an opportunity to write a speech for a global audience and with 10,000 views within the first 24 hours we certainly achieved this!
