Trip for Reception classes

Posted: 4th December 2019

Last week, the four Reception classes visited the Museum of Childhood in Bethnal Green to look at toys from the olden days. The boys embraced everything from start to finish, including the minibus ride which took them over Tower Bridge. At the museum the boys took part in a really interesting workshop all about Moving Toys; ones you could push or pull, wind up or which ran on clockwork. As adults, you will remember the Hornby railway, Fisher Price pull along telephone and the wooden duck with flappy feet you pushed along using a wooden stick.  The boys really enjoyed playing with all these old toys and their particular favourites were the little wind-up toys. They also loved their picnic lunch and were keen to eat it as early as possible, perhaps 11:30am was a little too soon! We were very proud of the boys’ behavior; they were polite, followed instructions and were a credit to the school.
