A party of Year 6 and 7 boys travelled to Ponte di Legno in the beautiful Italian Alps for the inaugural ‘Dolce Vita’ tour. Our itinerary included a daily Italian language lesson, regular art sessions, an Italian cooking morning, a photography course followed by a trip in the cable cars up to 3000 metres to photograph the glacier, a day’s visit to the Archeopark, and a recreated prehistoric site in the UNESCO world heritage site at Valle Camonica. We also visited the White War museum at Temu, home to hundreds of artefacts from the First World War battles in the mountains, went mountain-biking and high roping, and made regular walks into town for pizza, gelato and shopping.
It was indeed una vacanza bellissima – a superb trip of relaxation, sunshine, cultural and outdoor activities whilst staying at the wonderful Hotel Mirella surrounded by the mountains.
