Chinese New Year in the Pre-Prep

Posted: 13th February 2019

CNY4

The Pre-Prep Hall was full of colour and the sound of cymbals, as we celebrated Chinese New Year. Several parents and boys told the story of the Great Race, through the use of shadow puppets, explaining the order of the animals and therefore why it is the year of the Pig. Grandparents and boys dressed as dragons danced through the audience of boys, bestowing luck upon us all for the coming year. Each boy was generously given a ‘gold coin’ in a red velvet pouch as a memento of the day.
