DPL Model Challenge

Posted: 15th March 2021

On the last Friday of half term, boys in Middle and Upper School were encouraged to take part in the first-ever Tribe Model competition.  The aim was to recreate part, or all, of the school in either a 2D or 3D format.  The final pieces submitted by the end of the February break exceeded all expectation and staff were blown away by the enthusiasm and ambition of the entries.  There was a mini-golf course built into a 3D model of ‘The Link’ building.  LEGO classrooms, observatories and science labs all with detailed chairs and tables.  Beautiful collages and paintings of all parts of the school and even a wooden replica model of the Lower School fort!  The winning entry was an impressive 3D rendering of the entire school using the Minecraft software.  The attention to detail and accuracy was simply astounding and I know that several Heads of Section have already expressed an interest in using it in their New Parents’ Evening slideshow…

A special mention and first place for a joint entry for James  (our spring term Head Boy)  and his brother and Thomas for their amazing Minecraft entry, view it here.

Do have a look at some of the wonderful entries below.
