Big Night Out

Posted: 11th March 2020

Big-night-out

Friday 20th March will be a day of relaxation leading into the weekend for many. However, for over half of us in Year 8, it will be something different entirely; we will be experiencing homelessness.

We will be wearing beanies and jackets, having a dinner of soup and sleeping outside on the school’s grounds in cardboard boxes and sleeping bags. By doing this, we are hoping to raise money for the charity Glass Door. Glass Door runs London’s largest emergency winter night shelter network, providing a safe, warm place to sleep for up to 170 men and women a night in partnership with churches across the city. Year-round, men and women with nowhere else to turn can find drop-in centres during the day and the support they need to end their homelessness. We voted to support them because Glass Door night shelters save lives, and the support services help change lives.

Our JustGiving page is still open for anyone who wants to donate. If you are one of those, just click on the link here and help to give others a place to drop in at night:
