Sorrento

Posted: 6th November 2019

A group of Year 8 boys enjoyed an incredible cultural and historical trip to Sorrento during the half term holiday. The sun shone down on them every day as they took on the sights of Pompeii, Vesuvius , Herculaneum and the spectacular view from Sorrento itself. One of the biggest highlights of the trip was a tour of the tunnels deep below the streets of Naples. Here we squeezed through ridiculously narrow passages, were plunged into complete blackness and discovered how the people of Naples sought refuge in this labyrinth during WW2. After our days spent reaching back into the past, we ensured we brought ourselves back into the present day with a gelato, pizza and quick dip in the hotel pool.
