European Day

Posted: 7th June 2018

Before half term, the Year 1 boys had a wonderful European Day. They started with a delicious feast from the country they had been studying. The boys tucked into delicacies from all over Europe, from hummus to mozzarella and stroopwafles to Pastéis de Nata! (custard tarts)

Once the boys had demolished everything, they were ready to start their exciting adventure. With their passports in hand, the boys ‘flew’ from Greece to Italy, Portugal and Holland, learning key facts about each country on their whistle-stop tour.

Finally, the boys took part in the European Day football tournament. The matches were thrilling, with all boys showing competitiveness and yet excellent sportsmanship. The results were close between all four countries, but the winner of the trophy was Greece! A fantastic day for all involved.
