Christmas in Early Years

Posted: 13th December 2016

It’s been a very special end of term in Early Years. Instead of Monday we had Elf day! The children, dressed as Santa’s ‘little helpers’, came to school ready to work in their classroom workshops.  They were busy creating lots of Christmas treasures, from bead baubles, sticky elf biscuits, snowmen cakes and sparkly stars. In the afternoon, the staff performed their version of the Nativity which focused on the story of the rather grumpy Innkeeper played by Mrs Burtonshaw, great fun was had by all.

Today we all shared a delicious Christmas lunch together in our hall, roast turkey, roast potatoes and all the other trimmings. There has also been a sense of anticipation as the children listened out for the arrival of a rather special visitor. They were not disappointed.  Father Christmas appeared bearing gifts for every child.  It was wonderful to see the expressions on the children’s faces.
