Friends' Firework Display

Posted: 9th November 2016

The annual Friends’ Bonfire and Fireworks display certainly went off with a bang this year! Almost 2,500 people flooded into the Early Years field to see a monumental bonfire, spectacular fireworks display, and enjoy mulled wine, locally brewed beer, a range of tasty food, and depending on age, some epic light sabre battles! The Friends would like to thank everyone who volunteered their time to help make this event such a success. From newspaper scrunching to palette collection, from bonfire building to ticket selling, from site set-up to cleaning up the field, from marshalling to fireworks detonating, all help was very much appreciated. In particular we’d like to thank Rupert von-Eisenhart Goodwin, our Master Bonfire Builder for many years now, who stepped down this year, and who has set the bar high for future bonfires! A great effort all round, thank you everyone!
