Poetry Week in the Pre-Prep

Posted: 19th April 2016

“There is a duck, stuck, in my fridge…”

The opening line of Mr Grieve’s poem was just one of many that had the Pre-Prep boys in fits of laughter during their Poetry Week.

The visiting poet A.F. Harrold added to the fun with his hilarious and imaginative Kennings poetry (rhyme writer, beard wearer!).  The week concluded with the boys dressing up as their favourite character from a poem, some boys even performed their poem during assembly.

The first ever Poetry Week was a huge success with every boy writing their own poems.  Who knows, we might have the next Mr Grieve poet, although he doesn’t know it (couldn’t resist).
