Year 8 Tribe Swimming Gala

Posted: 20th January 2016

The gala started with the 50m freestyle and was won by George (8L) for the Mohicans. The Mohicans kept up this good start by winning the next two races. Chippeways and Deerfeet didn’t disappoint though and came back with some wins of their own. The Mohicans and Andrew (8L) then won the next two races – the 25m Butterfly and then the 50m Breaststroke, breaking a 6-year-old school record in the process! Chippeways fought back, winning the next three races and setting another school record as Willem (8W) won the 50m Backstroke.

The points were close going into the final 100m Individual medley, with the highly anticipated head-to-head of Andrew and Willem resulting in a win for Andrew by just four hundredths of a second! The Mohicans then assured themselves of victory by winning the last two relay races.

Congratulations to all the boys who took part!
